Hello, I eat a very healthy diet drink plenty of water and plenty of fibre I have been constipated all week, after using a suppository I had small cardboard coloured stool s that were round. Three hours later I had an anal discharge of pink to light red mucus that came out before I could even get to the bathroom ,should I be concerned ? One note I did juice beet greens and other vegetables the day before....

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As there is a consumption of beet greens and vegetables, there can be an obvious discharge of red material up to a period of 24 - 48 hours.

If the same persists beyond the period mentioned, one has to get the lab report of the discharge for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
