Suggest Treatment For Red Rash On Upper Thighs After Total Vaginal Hysterectomy?
Hi. I'm 4 days post op from a total vaginal hysterectomy by da vinci robot. I just noticed I have a large red rash on upper thighs especially on the right side. It does not itch, but feels warm. No fever. Only taking 1 percoset and 1 600 mg ibuprofen per day. Please help.
The type of skin rash that you have developed seems to be more like an allergic skin rash. Since you have had a surgery recently, such rashes are very common in the immediate post operative period. Various antiseptics are used to clean the body areas before surgery in the form of betadine and other solutions. They are a common cause of development of skin allergic reactions. You should see a nearby dermatologist soon for confirmation of the diagnosis . A treatment with a mild topical steroid cream will help in solving your problem.
Hope it helps
