Suggest Treatment For Red Rashes On The Armpits While Having Staph Infection

I have recently had a staph infection that started in my knee, moved to my shoulder, and I had procedures on both to remove infection, followed by a month of IV antibiotics. The picc line and antibiotics were stopped by ID physician on 9/15, but now I have some soreness in the same shoulder, as well as a red rash on both arm pits. Could the infection still be there and in need of additional antibiotics?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

It is possible that red rashes may be due to infection or fungal infection or allergy to the drug etc. Without examination, it is difficult to say what is the cause.

But keep in touch with your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Penchila Prasad Kandikattu , Internal Medicine Specialist
