I am a dialysis patient and have had Moes surgery on my nose. However several red spots are emerging on my access arm. There are only a few on other parts of my body. Why are they mostly on my access arm? Is it because of the increased amount of blood? I would be greatful for an answer and how can I fight them off.
Hi. As per your case history you are having allergic dermatitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid using any new products like soap or perfume as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream twice daily on affected skin. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone and higher antihistamines like hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
