Suggest Treatment For Red, Swollen And Bleeding Ears
I have ear gauges/ stretchers and i recently moved to a larger size about 4 days ago. On the 2nd day my ears were very sore red, bleeding and swollen. I took out the stretcher washed, and soaked my ear in warm sea salt soak. I also moved to a smaller size gauge. Today is the fourth day. The bleeding has stopped, and the soreness has tapered a but it s still tender to the touch. Though the bleeding has stopped white globby stuff is on the piercing. I checked my lymph nodes but alas no medical school degree for me sooo i have no idea if im feeling swollen glads or just panicking! Any advice?
As per my clinical experience, te red, swollen and bleeding ears do indicate underlying bacterial infection involving external or middle ear. The usual pathogen responsible is gram positive bug as staph aureus, strep pyogens or gram negative pseudomonas in some cases. Require a culture swab report of the discharge for proper antibiotic support and faster recovery.
Additional guidelines at this point: - Local area cleansing with antiseptic liquid - Apply moxifloxacin ear drops 3 times a day - Keep the ear plugged with sterile cotton - Do not allow water to enter into the ear canal - Control of blood sugar
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
