Suggest Treatment For Redness And Soreness At The Right Corner Of Eye

Dear Sir, From last few weeks ( 3-4 weeks ), I am feeling right side eye, right corner ( palpebral fissure ) redness & soreness. My physician has given some over the counter eye drops, which I have been using from last 7 days, but no changes in red colouration and sore feeling. Sore feeling is like if something touches that area or if even I am near to a onion cut, right eye becomes puffy. Please advise.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Redness and soreness in eye over a long period (over weeks) could be due to glaucoma or some other underlying eye problem. Consult an ophthalmologist promptly for examination of entire eye. Redness due to infection usually clears in few days after use of topical antibiotics.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
