Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling At Injection Site

On Thursday I had a pnemonia shot. Thursday night I felt hot then felt chilled on and off all evening. Tonight, my bicep muscle in the arm I had the shot in is red and feels swollen. My arm also hurts more than normal when getting a shot. Do I need to seek medical help?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Yes, you definitely should have it checked. The reason of such symptoms can be veins thrombosis or soft tissues inflammation.
Inflammation usually resolves by its own, however thrombosis has to be treated with heparine.

Soft tissues ultrasound and veins Doppler ultrasound should be done.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
