Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling In The Eyes
Hi, can I ask something about my mother having stye eye for about three days and she had been applied tetramycin since yesterday. However it does not get any better and I think become worsen..her eye become more swolen with redness today and I told her to stop applying the tetramycin for a while. So how?is it normal like that or maybe those side effects are the sign of getting better..or need to consult Dr as soon as possible. Tq.
The swelling in front of the ear can be a reaction from the stye, basically, a lymph gland which is enlarged to fight the infection. It should subside in a few days as the stye is subsiding.
The clear or a bit cloudy mucus is most likely a viral infection or allergic. Some anti-allergic medicines can help. It can resolve spontaneously also. Overall, nothing much to worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
