Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling On My Temple Area

It started with redness and swelling on my temple area, which now has expanded to the right side of my face. It may have been a spider bite, etc. Does not really itch but is irritating. Looks likes sores, etc. Now even on my right side of my lip and jaw area. Wondering if a spider bite or an insect bite can cause an infection to the right side of my face. It started about 3 days ago. Had a headache today but not sure if it s related. Actually had some trouble swallowing yesterday, not so much today. Thank you. Kevin

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The narrated symptoms of red and swollen temple with difficulty in swallowing can be an early sign of Lyme disease and involvement of facial nerve with the bug Borrelia Burgdoferri. Immediately visit an ER and get checked, do not neglect it as simple bite.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
