Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling On The Finger Tip

middle finger on my left hand, first joint from the fingertip. Sharp sudden pain all at once. A little tender today. Put ice on it last night and taped it today? No swelling or redness. Any thoughts on what this may be. Still hurts when I bend the finger at that joint?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

It may be some sort of arhritis or bacterial infection which is commonly seen by diabetics and other methabolic diseases. you should do xrays and check lab findings and then see if antibiotics therapy an dimmobilization are required. Till this, you should rest, apply cold compresses, keep it elevated and take nonsteroid painkillers such as ibuprofenum or Diclofenac.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
