Suggest Treatment For Redness On The Face Caused By Retinol Face Cream

I used a retinol face cream and my face is all red, dry itchy all over, looks terrible, it seems to be getting worse not better. What can I do? I stopped using the cream but I wonder what I can do to help this? I can't afford to pay to get an answer, sorry

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . The symptoms you mention in query are very common among those who just start using this cream. Most people start using this cream in the beginning ,at that time skin is not prepare for it . So one should not start using this cream to the full extent in the beginning. Use it on alternate day in the beginning and let the skin adopt to it

As this cream has exfoliate function ,it exposes the new layer of skin which is more sensitive then the previous one and give reaction to this cream. Usually symptoms relieved after stop its use for 5-7 days . You can also use sunscreen with SPF 15 and non comedogenic moisturizer for few days .

After the skin returns to normal you can again start using this cream in less frequency (2 days a week) and in less concentration so that skin can adapt itself.

If condition still persist then you should consult dermatologist for proper evaluation .Doctor may recommend you some alternate according to your skin condition.
