Suggest Treatment For Removing The Brownish Discoloration In The Area Of Burn

Hi, I ve received what appears to be a chemical burn on my inner thigh when I used dettol on the area to reduce a boil. I soaked the dettol (without watering it down) on a towel and left it on the affected for about 1.5 hours which was when I noticed the reaction. The area itself turned into a brownish color and the area itself is warm and stiff to the touch. It s also sore whenever I touch the area. I tried soaking it in cold water and used anti-burn cream to alleviate the area. Is there any other way to treat the area and remove the discoloration?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

brownish discoloration of skin is due to skin burn. Skin burn which is up to the dermis leads to scarring and discoloration. The scarring and discoloration can be corrected with certain cosmetic treatments like laser. I suggest you to consult a cosmetologist for the skin discoloration and scarring.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
