General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The rheumatic fever is a long term sequence of previous streptococcal infection in childhood ( either partially treated or else ) when it affects particularly valves of the heart via vegetation development or else over joint regions.

* The recommended measures are of use of Penicillin prophylaxis for the same for long term duration till age of 21 years.

However, the details of onset of childhood episode, all treatment details so far upto current period and last fresh reports of lab indicating ESR, CRP and antibodies levels are mandatory to discuss further regarding the issue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
