I had ITP at 17 that resuled in months of corticosteroids as well as other steroids. After months of tx to get my platelets to 40K, Nothwestern decided on laproscopic splenectomy in Jan 1994, still a very new procedure at the time. 15 years later, after two tough pregnancies, mostly because my doctors beleived I was Preeclampsic, I survived 2 c sections, despite BP readings at 280/200. That was 2005 and 2007. I have had residual hypertension , rapid heart rate, bounding pulse, flushing, day and night sweats and spikes in BP despite my daily doses of 200 mg of Metoprolol and Clonodine. My metanephine levels are in OK range. My newest abdomen scans show a 5.5 cm solid tissue mass on my left side, adjacent to the left adrenal. My endo thinks it s benign. Given ITP, Pheo and now a new mass, I asked if we can biopsy and he said , no, I think it s incedental. I m extremely upset as I asked 4 times during my appt what the CT results were and he ignored me. When he finally read the radiology reports, he just mumbled off the words mass and solid tissue without even looking at me. Regardless of his terrible bedside manner, I d like to know, or confirm my thoughts, that a second opinion on the new mass is critical. Thank you.
