Suggest Treatment For Resting Tremor And Stiff Neck With Cold Pain

In June of 2015, I noticed a slight shaking of my left hand. The shaking involved the entire hand, but was driven by the 3rd and forth fingers. It was diagnosed as a resting tremor. At this same time, I also experienced constant, global headaches on a pain scale of 1-6. In addition, I had a stiff neck, and I would experience shooting cold pains up my neck. My neurologist began treating me for Parkinson s Disease. I have taken Carbi Dopa Leve Dopa and Ropinirole. Neither has had a significant effect on my tremor. Could you recomment exploring other treatment options?

Hi,

Noted your history of resting tremor of left hand, stiff neck, global headache, treatment by Neurologist with Carbi-Dopa, Levo-Dopa, Ropinirole but no benefit.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult another Neurologist for second opinion, necessary investigations and thus establish the proper diagnosis which is so much important for the proper management.
As per the short history you have provided this may be related to the stiff neck, which in turn may be due to cervical spondilitis or bulged disc causing tremors in hand.
MRI of the neck for stiff neck, possible disc bulge and associated findings.
Nerve conduction studies.
Tests of blood and urine
All these will help to get a proper diagnosis and get treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
