General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Rib pain can be related to many medical condition. It can be related to a muscle strain. It can also be related to a rib fracture. I recommend to use an anti inflammatory medications such as Tylenol for the pain. I also suggest to do a chest X-ray to exclude a fracture.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
