Suggest Treatment For Right Arm Pain During Physical Activity After Injury
Two days ago i fell off of a bike, falling approximately 6 feet and landing on wood…on the far right side of my ribs just under my armpit. When i do any physical activity with my right arm i have a pain in that area. Also when i take a full breath it hurts on my lower front right ribs and i feel a slight pop when i exhale, which doesnt hurt but feels like i am popping my knuckles...but in my rib. Should i go to a doctor? The closest thing to that i got was the park medic feeling places on my ribs and eventually telling me that it is not broken the only thing i can physicly see is a bump (bruise) on the impact area. So agian. Should i see a professional?
This likely suggests a contusion there. Pop without much pain is unlikely related to fracture. Just try analgesics like ibuprofen 3 times a day (after food) for 3-5 days and apply ice packs there. If pain is not coming down after 3 days, or the swelling increase, kindly see your doctor for further evaluation; otherwise no need to worry.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
