Suggest Treatment For Right-sided Mass On Neck

My husband has a mass on the right side of his neck and the dentist said it was not related to this teeth and did an xray and sent my husband to a primary care dr the same day. The primary care ordered a ct soft tissue neck with contrast which he will have done tomorrow. Also the mass get s bigger when he eats and then goes down but not away. What could this be?

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a mass on right side of neck that increase on size on eating and reduce gradually but not completely can be due to obstruction in the duct of submandibular Salivary Gland that is a major salivary gland..
There can be formation of crystalline stones in the ducts of the glands from minerals present on saliva..
As the Saliva cannot flow into the mouth due to obstruction there is backflow of saliva into the gland and as there is increased salivation during meals the swelling is more during and after meals..
As you are already advised to get a Biopsy done the cause can be confirmed accordingly and in case of superficial stones manual removal can be done while deeper stones can be removed surgically..
