Suggest Treatment For Right Temporal Brain Tumor

yes i have a friend that recently was dx with right temperal brain tumors via ct. He was placed on tamoxifen. sym became beter etc.. confussion and spatial relations,however he has not been told he needs a pet scan but an mri. why would they choose mri over pet. considering hes has implanted tens unit and it would have to be removed?
