Suggest Treatment For Ringing In Ears

A couple of weeks ago I came down with a sinus infection. I ve finished the antibiotics but now the right side of my jaw hurts, especially when I chew. Sometimes when I wake up, it feels locked and I have to force a yawn a few times to get it to unlock. In addition, I have a constant buzzing in my right ear and feel a little light headed sometimes. Are the two related? Could I still have an infection going on in the middle ear? I had a follow up with my doctor yesterday and he saw nothing wrong. He told me that as a result of all my allergy/nasal issues, the air in my right ear had become displaced which causes the buzzing. He told me to hold my nose and blow. I did this and my left ear popped but not my right. He was not surprised and indicated it would all clear up soon and told me to continue blowing periodically. Today I tried to eat a salad. It was painful and the buzzing is louder than ever. Can you help?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of inflammation of the middle ear, due to low drainage.

The fact that you have jaw pain when eating could be indicative of TMJ inflammation, related to the sinus infection.

For this reason, I agree with your doctor that there is no reason to panic.

I would just recommend taking nose drops (decongestant) and ibuprofen against inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
