Suggest Treatment For Ringworm Infection

Hello Dr, My question is regarding Ringworm My cousin is suffering from it, it has been close to nine months. He got it from wrestling. The Dr gave him some cream which didn t work. He went a dermatologist, it was given Diflucan, it did disappear, but to come back again. He was given a shampoo too. He tried some natural product & pills too, but it is not going away!!! I there is a cure & a simple diagnose for it. It seems he hasn t found the right person to help!! Would you help please. Regards

Hello,

Ring worm is a kind of fungal infection. As a first line management you can apply topical anti-fungal like Clotrimazole after cleaning with soap and water.

You have to keep in mind that the anti-fungal creams has to be continued two weeks even after disappearance of the lesion. Incomplete treatment will be a reason for recurrence. Good personal hygiene is also important.
