Suggest Treatment For Round Blisters On Arms And Shoulders While On Lisinopril

I I have been taking Lisinopril HCTZ since October 2010. This year I had a blood clot in my left lung and took blood thinner. In the first part of May I developed round blisters on arm, shoulder. It itched bad. My face is red and itchy. Went to a dermatologist. He prescribed a steroid ointment for my arms and a hydrocortisone cream for my face. My arms no longer have blisters but have left scars. My face still itches. Can this be caused by my BP med?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The blisters and itchiness do indicate underlying drug sensitivity surely.
* I do recommend to stop further doses of the Lisinopril and discuss the alternative of that for BP control with your physician.
* Steroid consumption is also not advisable at present to prevent further complications associated following the use of steroids. Do feel free to get further medical assistance through the website.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
