Suggest Treatment For Scab On Cheek

I have a small round scab on my side of my cheek. There is redness around the area and a bit of tenderness. It is slightly painful but I think it might be part of the healing process. The scab is completely dark, dry, almost black and very hard. Is this an infected scab?

Hello,

I can understand your concern for scab on cheek area.

After going through your complete query and analyzing it with best diligence, I can make out a possibility of wither contact dermatitis or sun burn or a local skin condition like lichen planus or related thing.

You have not mentioned since exactly how long you have this scab on cheek and also require you age and gender to make a most probable cause of the condition.

I suggest you to have sun protection and do not try to do any kind of home remedies. If it is from short period of time then for the present episode I suggest you to apply an antibiotic cram such as gentamycin or mupirocin. Maintain good hygiene to prevent any infection.

If it is from long duration of more than 2 weeks then it is better to meet a dermatologist at the earliest.

All the best.
