my grown son has had scabies for months. he has them again. he says he is throwing up and the bugs are in what he throws up. i saw his tongue. it has very tiny holes that look like the black mites on the back of it. we don t know what he is dealing with. help?
Hi. As per your case history of scabies, my treatment advice is - 1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily. Keep his belongings separate as it is a contagious disease. 2. Apply a 5% permethrin lotion from neck to toe at night once a week. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral ivermectin, co-trimoxazole, crotamiton cream given only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
