Suggest Treatment For Scabs On The Shoulders

I have had small scabs on shoulders that don t heal up for many many years. I can recall only 2 times that they went away. The last time was when I was in nursing home after knee replacement but the non healing scabs returned after I returned home. I am assuming I was given antibiotics while in hospital. Why do I always have these scabs.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Your history is suggestive of a skin lesion that needs to be examined by a Dermatologist as it is non-healing.
This can be due to psoriasis, dermatitis of some sort even a cancer of skin.
Biopsy may be needed for confirmation of diagnosis so that a proper diagnosis is made.
A proper diagnosis alone gives a chance for proper management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
