Suggest Treatment For Scalp Infection Causing Hair Loss
Yes, Ive been hiv + for 14 yrs with no viral load and t cell of 450. I developed a scalp condition 2 yrs ago. extremenly itchy scalp with loss of hair. My doctor tried me on and anti fungal pill for 1 month the first time, then cream the together and the last time, two months of anti fungal cream and pills..with no results. I had a prostate infection a couple months ago and was put on Bactrim ds for two weeks...that surprisly helped my scalp until I ran out. Also, not sure if this has any thing or not..but my bilirubin has been running high for the last 3 yrs.
Do you have any dandruff or louse infestation? This you have to verify. Do you use any hair dye? If yes, give up the same. Lotion containing steroids may be helpful to you. Bactrim DS controls secondary bacterial infection and thereby it will reduce the intensity of itching. Your hyperbilubinemia may be due to the ART drugs you are on. Consult a Dermatologist and follow his/her guidance and you will become alright soon. Dr S.Murugan
