Dermatologist 's  Response
According to your history shingles is not the appropriate diagnosis for your condition as it is associated with extreme burning and pain over one half of the scalp in case of scalp shingles .It is also associated with appearance of multiple blisters and not a single open wound. Yours might be a case of pyoderma which is infection of the skin and is treated with antibiotics.
