Suggest Treatment For Scaly Skin

I am 19 years I have a very dry skin and it looks scaly patchy and dark ,..i had recently visited a dermatologist regarding this and was told its called as snake skin...doc had sugested me venusia cream which doesnt seem to make any difference...can some1 pls help..n thnk in advance☺

Hi,

If it's scaly and hard a second opinion may be helpful to rule out psoriasis or asteotitic dermatitis. Using Vitamin E supplements as well as zinc and vitamin C can be helpful for better skin growth. Vitamin A deficiencies should also be ruled out. Emolients like liquid glycerine or paraffin and vaseline combination can be helpful as well. Avoiding drying soaps and too much sunlight exposure may be helpful. UV therapy option may be discussed with a cosmetologist.
