Suggest Treatment For Seizures And Weight Loss In Alcohol Dependent Patient
my son is 33 5ft 9in 9 stone, he has been alcohol dependent for many years and failed after three detoxes he has lost so much weight lately and has unexplained bruising i was thinking of asking his doctor for antabuse drug but he has had seizures in the past can he take it or would rehab be better where he can be given the right direction in life

hi dear,
alcohol dependence also cause seizure in withdrawal phase so seizure in tha past may be due to alcohol dependence also.
so first of all if your son is ready to quit alcohol then admit him in psychiatric nursing home and then detoxify then start antabuse drug or aversion therapy or anti craving therapy.
with out his motivation it is not possible to quit alcohol completely.
not to worry about seizure and start benzodiazepins according to doctors advise.
Consult psychiatrist for detail.
