Suggest Treatment For Sever Gas Pain On The Torso And Solar Plexus.

Onset of severe fulminating gas causing pain in the center portion of my torso, more to the right side of my body where the solar plexus would be found. Numbness can travel to either or both hands/ limbs. Several gas-x reduce the discomfort. Stool is firm and movement regular. Symptoms began spontaneously 3 weeks ago. It is worth mentioning I had this condition 7 years ago with the aid of Omeprarzole the symptoms disappeared over time. The pain is at time unbearable causing cold sweats and difficulty breathing. At times the next day finds pains in my chest area similar to having been physically struck.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have a history of chronic gastritis. Now, you are also having pain in the chest (very similar to having been physically struck). Many times chest pain that may lead to MI is confused with Acid Reflux or Gastritis.

You are suggested to visit ER, get a cardiac checkup done along with blood works & Imaging tests to rule out any developing CAD.

In the meantime take antacids & PPI's to get relief from the discomforts. Take fiber rich diet, avoid constipation, take plenty of water. Take berries, fruits, veggies, whole grain. Avoid trans fat, spicy oily food, red meat & high protein. Exercise regularly, switch to a healthy lifestyle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
