Suggest Treatment For Sever Pain In Toe After Injury

I stood up and hit the side of my left big toe on the ground. It cracked and I immediately felt pain and could not put weight on my foot. I have had soft tissue damage in the same area since August in which the pain has not subsided. I have tried icr, heat, and pain medication but nothing us working. I am a competitive dancer and I don t have much time for rest either.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an injury. I suggest to use an anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain. I also suggest to use cold compresses for local application. If the pain continue you should do an X-ray of the toe for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
