Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Bloating And Indigestion

Hello. I am having severe stomach bloating, pain, indigestion, and heartburn. I ve had an endoscopy, an x-ray, a CAT scan, and 3 ultrasounds of the abdominal area. I have even had to have fluid aspirated from my abdomen when because I was told there some fluid there. All the results are negative, and no one can tell what s wrong with me. Could it be something serious that the doctor s just aren t seeing?

Hi,

Noted your history well and understood the concerns.
Heartburn is indicative of a condition called GERD that is gastroesophageal reflux disease and can be due to lax lower esophageal sphincter or secondary to another condition called IBS.
Since you have abdominal bloating, pain and indigestion I would advise you the following:
Tests of stool for three consecutive days, this can have some findings that can be treated if present.
Tests of blood for CBC, liver, pancreas, kidney and thyroid functions, if anything is found then it can be treated accordingly.
Since all other tests like X-rays, Ultrasonography, CT scan, Endoscopy abdominal fluid analysis are normal and if stool and blood tests are also normal then this can be a condition called Irritable Bowel Syndrome that is IBS.
Control of anxiety and stress is the key to successful treatment. Also identify the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the problems and stop these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
