Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Discomfort

I have been having stomach discomfort for over a month. I had a recent colonoscopy and upper GI exam which showed slight irritation in the esophagous area. I have been taking an oral atacid daily. I have been having white colored stools and my eyes are turning slightly yellow. I recently had liver enzyme tests which were normal however I did not have a bilirubin test. My urine is also a dark amber color. What could be the possible explanation for my symptoms. I am still feeling very ill.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have gone through your question and here is my advice. You have problem of esophageal irritation that may be because of reflux problem.

Do some diet and lifestyle modifications like. Avoid over eating and citrus foods. Avoid coffee, spicy food ,alcohol drinking and smoking. Eat a small amount of meal and chew properly. Drink more water. Avoid immediate lying down after meal. Do some walking after eating. Avoid stress. Elevate your head during sleeping by two cushion. If you are overweight than try to decrease your weight. Avoid fatty foods , junk foods and carbonated drinks etc.

If you observe change in urine color, then do urine test to detect if any infection is present or not. After taking this much care if the symptoms are still present than consult a gastroenterologist for further treatment.

I hope my guidance helpful to you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
