Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea

Hi, I have been experiencing severe abdominal pain and diarrhea accompanied by less frequent vomiting. I went to the ER and they diagnosed me with C. difficile colitis. I started taking metronidazole last night and I just noticed a little bright blood in my stool. I was wondering if this is due to the medication and whether or not I need to seek further medical attention. Thank you

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe abdominal pain and diarrhea which seems to be due to viral infection of body leading to acute gastroenteritis and electrolyte imbalance in body.

Need not to worry. Take banana on daily basis and light food. Avoid taking any sharp and spicy food. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should take antiemetic like domperidone and ranitidine for gastritis. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. You should start treatment with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole. You should take Ibuprofen along with proton pump inhibitors as well.
