Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 35 years old female and I had my tonsils taken out in January 2016 10 months later I m still having problems on my right side when I swallow. I have seen 2 ent doctors. My one Doctor told me I need to heal. He said it could take up to a year to heal. The second Doctor told me that it could be inflammation. Im taken medicine for my acid reflux but it s not working. I think it s scar tissue. My second Doctor put a scope down my nose and said everything looks normal. It feels like something is there and it irritated me. I don t know what it is.
Your symptoms are nonspecific, but these may be suggestive of gastritis, GERD or hiatal hernia so you should do gastroscopy to evaluate it more accurately. This is caused by irritation of stomach mucosa by certain food or medications, stress and smoking. It should be treated by changing lifestyle habits first and in severe cases, medications or surgery may be required.
You need to eat smaller meals but or frequently, avoid long sitting after meal and regulate your body mass. You need to avoid fried food, carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and spicy food. You should eat more milk products, vegetables and boiled food. Also, certain antiacid medications may be required by diagnosis should be established first.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
