Suggest Treatment For Severe Ankle Pain

Hi, I fell down a few stairs at home today and I landed on my ankle. The pain initially was excruciating and I couldn t put weight on it. I used the rice treatment and I still cannot bare weight on it without alot of pain. There is no bruising, just swelling around the ankle. Should I see a doctor or will it get better on its own?

hii user
thanks for the qustion
As you have mentioned that u landed on your heel directly ,though calcaneum is very strong bone but occasionally after trauma there may be soft tissue swelling around the ankle ,some time there may be hair line fracture which cause severe pain ,
so it will be advisable to do x ray of ankle and see off your doctor, take vit d and calcium and nsaid to relevie pain
i hope you may be benefited by it
