Dear doctor, Now i m 36 and i started suffer anxiety 18 years old. At first my concern was a very bad neurological illness due to weird synthoms. Than with very prolonged treatments of antidepressant Cymbalta i felt much much better close to normal for years.Than my doctor was agree to quit the treatment. At the beggining everything was OK i mean the first 3 months but then i had some strong stress and all the symptoms came back stronger than before and are not going away. For this reason i ask to a psychiatrist online if is possible i should take the treatment my whole life and i also told him before my first synthoms appeared i had a story of cannabis abuse at the high school.By the way i m not taking any drug since a lot of year and i only have a problem with nicotine addiction. He just answer is clear i m a person with problems of addictions so i don t have to treat just anxiety. And plus he told me IS VERY POSSIBLE I DEVELOPED PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE with my past cannabis abuse. This completly pushed me in a state of very high anxiety feeling my brain is ruined for life. I tought quitting with drugs for years and follow a long term anxiety treatment actually helped my brain health but this told me is very possible my damages are not reversable. What i can say?I m really scared for the future.I m feeling like a mental disabled with no hope.
