Suggest Treatment For Severe Arthritis

I have moderately severe arthritis in my left hip. I have gone to a pain specialist. I completed physical therapy about two months ago. At that time the doctor told me that we can try to manage the pain until the time I feel I need to have hip replacement surgery. I currently take 800 milligrams of ibuprofen 3 times a day. For the most part that makes the pain bearable during the day but at night I can t sleep because of the pain. I usually only get about 3 to 5hours of sleep a night and I think it s time to explore prescription pain meds. I will be meeting with my doctor next week but I am hesitant to make the move to opioids. In general, what is the weakest or least strong opioid and what would be a good low dose to start with?
