Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain And Discomfort In The Chest
5 days ago I fell down the stairs hitting my back on stairs and also hitting my head hard on the edge of the stairs. I got my head checked and I had mild concussion. Ct scan clear. Since then I ve had back pain (which is prob the norm for hitting it hard). The pain in back is bearable it s more like toothache. I m now experiencing discomfort in my left rib cage and under that it feels like I have a large lump there. It s not visible but I can feel it s there. Any ideas what it can be and do I need to get it checked?
In my opinion, you will need a chest and back x-ray to rule out any hairline fracture or soft tissue injury. Apart from that the lump you noticed can be checked by ultra sonography or a CT scan.
However, X-ray is the initial test and you may not need to undergo any further diagnosis. In addition, examination by a GP is must, and you may take pain medication like Ibuprofen as and when needed in meantime.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
