I went to a dr. a couple of days ago and asked if I had shingles and she didn t think so, I have severe back pain on the right side and a rash under my right breast, I think I should go on Monday for a second opinion, I also had a headache today. (I broke two bones in mt left wrist 2-1/2 weeks ago. I had surgery and a plate and 3 screws inserted. I can only type w/one hand) thoughts on the shingles?

1. make sure apart from shingles, other common causes should be excluded like: irritant dermatitis [intertrigo], fungus, allergy, scabies and make sure that obesity/ill fitting bra and hot/humid climate is not an aggravating factor.

2. cold compresses and place cotton underneath breast to absorb moisture along with calamine lotion.
. reduce intake of starch and sugar
. wash the area with boric acid solution to prevent growth of fungus

3. If rash/pain doesn't heal see a doctor.
PS. Breast pain/rash causing back pain is a myth and cause has to be excluded separately.
