Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain

My husband is experiencing very severe back pain (which he has had before) so that is not alarming us. However, he was sitting at the counter and broke out in a sweat to where he was dripping.... he took a muscle relaxer an anti-inflamatory and pain pill about one hour ago. (all prescribed by his doctor during the last time he had the pain). But the sweat concerned me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to muscle sprain

For that he can take tablet acetaminophen. Apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally. Heating pads will also help

Do regular physical therapy. Avoid forward bending and squatting position

In case of not getting relief he may require MRI back after orthopedician consultation

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
