Suggest Treatment For Severe Belching, Heartburn And Occasional Choking On Fluid

My son,(now 19)last year ate spicy food and even vomited after that,he felt heartburn for a few days,now the heartburn isnt there anymore but he burps a lot after meals,if he s lying on a bed he sits up and burps,what is causing it and what is the remedy?

This is due to gastro-esophageal reflux disease. This is a chronic condition and lifestyle changes are needed to control it.
Advice
1.     Omeprazole 20 mg per oral empty stomach in the morning for 15 days
2.     Domperidone 10 mg per oral when your son feel nausea
3.     Avoid alcohol, smoking, spicy food, and non-steroidal pain killer for few days
4.     Avoid coffee and tea after meal
5.     Avoid eating 3 hours before lying down
6.     Raise the head of your bed
7.     Do not eat heavily at a time. Eat smaller meals
8.     Do not lie down immediately after meal
9.     Investigation – barium meal X ray to rule out hiatus hernia
