Suggest Treatment For Severe Bleeding After Stopping Injection
Hi i have been on an injection to prevent pregnancy.and while on it i was not going on my periods.now dat i have stopped the injection ,i have been bleeding a lot, sometimes da bleeding would stop for a day but if i get intimate i bleed again.this has been hapenning fr 6 months now.im even worried it could be cervical cancer, coz mostly i bleed after or during sex.please help.
Some bleeding after the injections for pregnancy prevention is normal but it should not last months. In your case, because it is 6 months you are bleeding, you will need to have a gynecological examination and according to the findings, the doctor may decide to order a pap smear, cervical samples for chlamydia and gonorrhea and also a transvaginal ultrasound.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
