Suggest Treatment For Severe Burning Sensation Near The Vagina

Area before vaginal opening/labia is raw feeling with burning at times. Had sex after several weeks and a little sore then sex 2 days later and more sore. Tried bath with Epsom salt, hydrogen peroxide, and tea tree oil and made it way worse I think everything reacted to that with burning. Been using coconut oil and slowly seems to be getting a little better. Also used ice pack. What can I use to help with that rawness/burning as very cautious putting thing in that area. No smell or unusual discharge doesn t seem like an infection. I think it s from a friction and not enough lubricant and is super red if you look at it. What can I use to heal and get relief?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are more consistent with infective causes like yeast or bacterial vaginosis. Consult a gynaecologist and plan for a vaginal swab to confirm the diagnosis. As of now, you can use Clotrimazole lotion to cleanse your genitals.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
