Suggest Treatment For Severe, Chronic, Thoracic Spine Pain

HI, I am wondering about some severe, chronic thoracic spine pain. Very stabbing. a small affected area, but it feels like I have a dagger going through my upper back. all the time. It is somewhat temporarily relieved if I have someone press my back, very hard, in the area, or if I pad my back, like with a pair of socks, where the pain is. I have had cervical spine surgery for stenosis, have secondary progressive MS, am 56 year old female. This has been going on for many years, it is getting worse, and the pain on a scale of 1-10 is a solid 8 most of the time. Any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* For the pain score of 8 out of 10, I do recommend an MRI of the thoracic spine to rule out further issues of spinal canal stenosis, nerve compression or else.
* Primary relief with assisted physiotherapy and analgesic are best recommended.
* Keep the blood sugar and body weight under control. Do feel free to get further medical assistance through the website.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
