Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation In A Child

My 8 yr old is constipated. We have followed dry. Instructions of 8 caps of Mira lax in 64 oz of Gatorade. He is only passing tarlike movements. There is a stool blocking the path. And he has been given 1 small square of exlax. What else can I do to help him pass this stool?

Hi;

He must consume plenty of water for making stool softer. Also, slowly performed massage through lower abdomen also stimulate defecation.
