Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation

My mother is on methadone, she is 80 for chronic pain, her constipation is so bad her stomach bloats and the doctor doesn't give her anything other then over the counter stuff, tellls her to take stool softners, can she do a home remedy now? She has drank so much milk of magnesia and i fear its making matters worse how about episom salt , she needs to have a bowel movemet today! Any quick home remedies please? I am worried about her. her last bowel movement was a few days ago, small bowel movement, she doenst feel impatcted and takes stool softner pills, HELP

take sufficiant water. more vegitable fiber rich food. liquid parafin can be taken at bedtime. best is isof gul husk socked in water or milk daily fr 4to5 days. this is abulk purgative. it is not habit forming.
