Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation

Can your stool get really dry in the colon and cause severe constipation? My husband has had bm problems for a long time. Today he had a really bad movement with a horrible smell and it looked like there was leaves in his stool. He had not eaten anything to cause this. He cannot wear his dentures so, therefore, is unable to eat a lot of items. YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

As a first line management laxatives like lactulose can be tried.
In severe cases a colonoscopy may be required to rule out tumor or mass in the bowel.
Consult a gastroenterologist and he will direct you accordingly.
