Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Itchy Red Welts Under The Breast

I have had a bad cough, probably due to a virus, for about 3 weeks. My husband has been recovering from bacterial pneumonia. In the past few days, both of us have developed itchy red welts. Mine are under one breast. My husbands are in several places. Cortzone cream relieves the itching but the welts don t go away.

Since you both hav the rash an infectious etiology may be suspected. The most likely diagnosis being Tinea corporis which is a fungal infection. You must avoid heat and humidity. Topical antifungal creams like clotrimazole can be used along with oral antifungals like Terbinafine after consulting your dermatologist. Regards
