Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Presence Of Redness In Stool
My 5 year old son has a cough that won t go away. He was given a puffer, then antibiotics for 5 days and the cough is still there. We are over a month now. Today he had some bits of red in his stool, drier rather than lose stool, yellow/greenish in color. All I remembered him eating that is red is raspberries yesterday morning and before bed and some strawberries today for a snack. What can be causing the cough? and should I insist again with the Dr.? Thanks!
This cough seems like an allergic reaction to a food or substance he is taking possibly strawberry or raspberry. Even the red loose stools may be caused by raspberry.
You can eliminate thus food for diet. Also, he should do an allergy test to determine the cause of a cough.
Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
